Dottorato in Management (XXXIX Ciclo)

  • Description

The PhD in Management program aims to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the modern economy. It gives them the knowledge and skills they need to understand and manage complex situations and create and implement innovative solutions. The program also offers diverse and complementary training options to enhance students' employability and career prospects.

The world today faces rapid technological changes (such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Blockchain) and in society (such as crises, pandemics, etc.). These changes require new ways of thinking and acting to cope with uncertainty and complexity. The PhD in Management equips the students with the theoretical frameworks and the practical tools to analyse and address these issues from different perspectives. The program also fosters the development of interdisciplinary and collaborative skills that are essential for working in a knowledge-based and dynamic environment.
The PhD in Management prepares the students for a professional career in academia, industry, or the public sector. It enables them to conduct high-quality research that can generate new knowledge and innovation for the benefit of society. It also helps them develop their communication and leadership skills that make them effective agents of change in their fields. The program provides the students with a supportive and stimulating learning environment where they can interact with faculty members, peers, and external partners.
The participants will develop the knowledge and skills required for their professional development, including:
    • Technical-professional competencies involve learning a specific "know-how" related to a particular profession in the economic/managerial field.
    • Instrumental competencies involve learning how to use specific tools, devices or systems, such as computer programs, for data analysis and processing.
    • Organizational competencies involve planning activities and commitments, managing time effectively and using appropriate tools to support communication and teamwork in the relevant professional context.

The training course consists of additional teaching and planning activities that include:
    • deepening the basic elements of the scientific-disciplinary sectors
    • acquiring of skills in the most advanced quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
    • Analysis of frontier issues from a multidisciplinary perspective and with reference to various operational contexts.
    • understanding of data analysis and result formulation processes.
    • project development, research results and design capabilities.
The training course also offers ad hoc courses and seminars, including international ones, and promotes research initiatives with individual responsibility of the participants and with ongoing and final evaluations.
